And they said, The man asked us straitly of our state, and of our kindred, saying, [Is] your father yet alive? have ye [another] brother? and we told him according to the tenor of these words: could we certainly know that he would say, Bring your brother down?

They said, “The man asked directly concerning ourselves, and concerning our relatives, saying, ‘Is your father still alive? Have you another brother?’ We just answered his questions. Is there any way we could know that he would say, ‘Bring your brother down’?”

4. 8యూదా తన తండ్రియైన ఇశ్రాయేలును చూచి ఆ చిన్న వానిని నాతో కూడ పంపుము, మేము లేచి వెళ్లుదుము, అప్పుడు మేమే కాదు నీవును మా పిల్లలును చావక బ్రదుకుదుము;
5. 9నేను అతనిగూర్చి పూటపడుదును, నీవు అతనిగూర్చి నన్ను అడుగవలెను; నేను అతని తిరిగి నీయొద్దకు తీసికొనివచ్చి నీయెదుట నిలువబెట్టని యెడల ఆ నింద నా మీద ఎల్లప్పుడును ఉండును.
