- 13వీరందరు ఆ వాగ్దానముల ఫలము అనుభవింపక పోయినను, దూరమునుండి చూచి వందనముచేసి, తాము భూమి మీద పరదేశులమును యాత్రికులమునై యున్నామని ఒప్పకొని, విశ్వాసముగలవారై మృతినొందిరి.

- 15వారు ఏదేశమునుండి వచ్చిరో ఆ దేశమును జ్ఞాపకమందుంచుకొన్నయెడల మరల వెళ్లుటకు వారికి వీలు కలిగియుండును.
- 16అయితే వారు మరి శ్రేష్ఠమైన దేశమును, అనగా పరలోకసంబంధమైన దేశమును కోరుచున్నారు. అందుచేత తాను వారి దేవుడనని అనిపించుకొనుటకు దేవుడు వారినిగూర్చి సిగ్గుపడడు; ఏలయనగా ఆయన వారికొరకు ఒక పట్టణము సిద్ధపరచియున్నాడు.
- 17అబ్రాహాము శోధింపబడి విశ్వాసమునుబట్టి ఇస్సా కును బలిగా అర్పించెను.
