కాబట్టి సైనికులు వచ్చి ఆయనతో కూడ సిలువవేయబడిన మొదటి వాని కాళ్లను రెండవవాని కాళ్లను విరుగగొట్టిరి.

30యేసు ఆ చిరక పుచ్చుకొని సమాప్తమైనదని చెప్పి తల వంచి ఆత్మను అప్పగించెను.
31ఆ దినము సిద్ధపరచుదినము; మరుసటి విశ్రాంతి దినము మహాదినము గనుక ఆ దేహములు విశ్రాంతి దినమున సిలువ మీద ఉండకుండునట్లు, వారి కాళ్లు విరుగగొట్టించి వారిని తీసివేయించుమని యూదులు పిలాతును అడిగిరి.

34సైనికులలో ఒకడు ఈటెతో ఆయన ప్రక్కను పొడిచెను, వెంటనే రక్తమును నీళ్లును కారెను.
