అయితే పట్టణమునుండి ఆకాశముతట్టు స్తంభ రూపముగా పొగ పైకిలేవ నారంభింపగా బెన్యామీనీ యులు వెనుకతట్టు తిరిగి చూచిరి. అప్పుడు ఆ పట్టణ మంతయు ధూమమయమై ఆకాశమునకెక్కుచుండెను.

- 42యెడారి మార్గముతట్టు వెళ్లుదమని ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల యెదుట వెనుకకు తిరిగిరిగాని, యుద్ధమున తరుమబడగా పట్టణము లలోనుండి వచ్చినవారు మధ్య మార్గమందే వారిని చంపిరి.
