అప్పుడు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల గోత్రములన్నిటిలో మిస్పాలో యెహోవా పక్షమున రాకపోయినవారెవరని విచారించిరి. ఏలయనగా అట్టివారికి నిశ్చయముగా మరణశిక్ష విధింప వలెనని ఖండితముగా ప్రమాణము చేసియుండిరి.

King James Version (KJV): And the children of Israel said, Who [is there] among all the tribes of Israel that came not up with the congregation unto the LORD? For they had made a great oath concerning him that came not up to the LORD to Mizpeh, saying, He shall surely be put to death.
World English Bible (WEB): The children of Israel said, “Who is there among all the tribes of Israel who didn’t come up in the assembly to the LORD?” For they had made a great oath concerning him who didn’t come up to the LORD to Mizpah, saying, “He shall surely be put to death.”

6ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు తమ సహోదరులైన బెన్యామీనీయులను గూర్చి పశ్చాత్తాపపడినేడు ఒక గోత్రము ఇశ్రా యేలీయులలో నుండకుండ కొట్టివేయబడియున్నది;
7మిగిలియున్నవారికి భార్యలు దొరుకునట్లు మనము మన కుమార్తెలను వారికి పెండ్లి చేయమని యెహోవా తోడని ప్రమాణము చేసితివిుగదా; వారి విషయములో ఏమి చేయ గలము? అని చెప్పుకొనిరి.
