1. 21అప్పుడు ఏహూదు తన యెడమచేతిని చాపి తన కుడి తొడమీదనుండి ఆ కత్తి తీసి కడుపుమీద అతని పొడిచెను.
2. 22పడియును కత్తివెంబడి దూరగా క్రొవ్వుకత్తిపైని కప్పుకొనినందున అతని కడుపు నుండి కత్తిని తీయలేకపోయెను, అది వెనుకనుండి బయటికి వచ్చి యుండెను.
3. 23అప్పుడు ఏహూదు పంచపాళిలోనికి బయలువెళ్లి తన వెనుకను ఆ మేడగది తలుపువేసి గడియ పెట్టెను.
4. 24అతడు బయలువెళ్లిన తరువాత ఆ రాజు దాసులు లోపలికివచ్చి చూడగా ఆ మేడగది తలుపులు గడియలు వేసియుండెను గనుక వారు అతడు చల్లని గదిలో శంకానివర్తికి పోయియున్నాడనుకొని
5. 25తాము సిగ్గువింతలు పడువరకు కనిపెట్టినను అతడు ఆ గది తలుపు లను తీయకపోగా వారు తాళపు చెవిని తెచ్చి తలుపులు తీసి చూచినప్పుడు వారి యజమానుడు చనిపోయి నేలను పడియుండెను.
