3. 5తరువాత అతడు ఒఫ్రాలోనున్న తన తండ్రి యింటికి పోయి యెరుబ్బయలు కుమారు లును తన సహోదరులునైన ఆ డెబ్బదిమంది మనుష్యులను ఒక్క రాతిమీద చంపెను. యెరుబ్బయలు చిన్న కుమారుడైన యోతాము మాత్రమే దాగియుండి తప్పించుకొనెను.
4. 6తరువాత షెకెము యజమానులందరును మిల్లో ఇంటివారందరును కూడివచ్చి షెకెములోనున్న మస్తకి వృక్షముక్రింద దండు పాళెమునొద్ద అబీమెలెకును రాజుగా నియమించిరి.
5. 7అది యోతామునకు తెలియబడినప్పుడు అతడు పోయి గెరిజీము కొండకొప్పున నిలిచి యెలుగెత్తి పిలిచి వారితో ఇట్లనెనుషెకెము యజమానులారా, మీరు నా మాట వినిన యెడల దేవుడు మీ మాట వినును.
