ఆయన యెరూషలేమునకు వెళ్ల నభిముఖుడైనందున వా రాయనను చేర్చుకొనలేదు.

54శిష్యులైన యాకోబును యోహానును అది చూచి ప్రభువా, ఆకాశమునుండి అగ్ని దిగి వీరిని నాశనము చేయునట్లు మేమాజ్ఞాపించుట నీకిష్టమా అని అడుగగా,
55ఆయన వారితట్టు తిరిగి వారిని గద్దించెను.
