- 15ఐగుప్తునకు వెళ్లి ఐగుప్తులోనుండి నా కుమారుని పిలిచితిని అని ప్రవక్తద్వారా ప్రభువు సెలవిచ్చిన మాట నెరవేర్చ బడునట్లు హేరోదు మరణమువరకు అక్కడనుండెను.
- 16ఆ జ్ఞానులు తన్ను అపహసించిరని హేరోదు గ్రహించి బహు ఆగ్రహము తెచ్చుకొని, తాను జ్ఞానులవలన వివర ముగా తెలిసికొనిన కాలమునుబట్టి, బేత్లెహేములోను దాని సకల ప్రాంతములలోను, రెండు సంవత్సరములు మొదలుకొని తక్కువ వయస్సుగల మగపిల్లల నందరిని వధించెను.
