1. 8సాయంకాలమైనప్పుడు ఆ ద్రాక్షతోట యజమానుడు తన గృహనిర్వాహకుని చూచి పనివారిని పిలిచి, చివర వచ్చినవారు మొదలుకొని మొదట వచ్చిన వారివరకు వారికి కూలి ఇమ్మని చెప్పెను.
2. 9దాదాపు అయిదు గంటలకు కూలికి కుదిరినవారు వచ్చి ఒక్కొక దేనారముచొప్పున తీసికొనిరి.
3. 10మొదటి వారు వచ్చి తమకు ఎక్కువ దొరకుననుకొనిరి గాని వారికిని ఒక్కొక దేనారముచొప్పుననే దొరకెను.
4. 11వారది తీసికొని చివర వచ్చిన వీరు ఒక్కగంట మాత్రమే పనిచేసినను,
5. 12పగలంతయు కష్టపడి యెండబాధ సహించిన మాతో వారిని సమానము చేసితివే అని ఆ యింటి యజ మానునిమీద సణుగుకొనిరి.
