ஏபேதின் மகனாகிய காகால், “நாம் சீகேமின் மனிதர்கள். நாம் ஏன் அபிமெலேக்கிற்குக் கீழ்ப்படிய வேண்டும்? அவன் தன்னை யாரென்று நினைத்திருக்கிறான்? அபிமெலேக்கு, யெருபாகாலின் மகன்களில் ஒருவன் மாத்திரமே. மேலும் அவன் சேபூலைத் தனது அதிகாரியாக நியமித்தானே நாம் அபிமெலேக்கிற்குக் கீழ்ப்படியக்கூடாது. ஏமோரின் ஜனங்களே, நாம் நமது ஜனங்களையே பின்பற்ற வேண்டும்.
