यह न कहना, बीते दिन इस से क्यों उत्तम थे? क्योंकि यह तू बुद्धिमानी से नहीं पूछता।

Yah na kahanaa, beete din is se kyom uttam the? Kyonki yah too buddhimaanee se naheem poochhataa.

King James Version (KJV): Say not thou, What is [the cause] that the former days were better than these? for thou dost not enquire wisely concerning this.
World English Bible (WEB): Don’t say, “Why were the former days better than these?” For you do not ask wisely about this.

8किसी काम के आरम्भ से उसका अन्त उत्तम है; और धीरजवन्त पुरूष गर्वी से उत्तम है।
9अपने मन में उतावली से क्रोधित न हो, क्योंकि क्रोध मूर्खों ही के हृदय में रहता है।
10यह न कहना, बीते दिन इस से क्यों उत्तम थे? क्योंकि यह तू बुद्धिमानी से नहीं पूछता।
11बुद्धि बपौती के साथ अच्छी होती है, वरन जीवित रहनेवालों के लिये लाभकारी है।
12क्योंकि बुद्धि की आड़ रूपये की आड़ का काम देता है; परन्तु ज्ञान की श्रेष्ठता यह है कि बुद्धि से उसके रखनेवालों के प्राण की रक्षा होती है।
