वह चुपचाप ठहर गई और मैं उसकी आकृति को पहिचान न सका। परन्तु मेरी आंखों के साम्हने कोई रूप था; पहिले सन्नाटा छाया रहा, फिर मुझे एक शब्द सुन पड़ा,
Vah chupachaap thahar gaee aur maim usakee aakruti ko pahichaan na sakaa. Parantu meree aankhom ke saamhane koee roop thaa; pahile sannaataa chhaayaa rahaa, phir mujhe ek shabd sun padaa,
