ಆಗ ಯೋನಾತಾನನು ತನ್ನ ಆಯುಧಗಳನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿಯುವ ಯೌವನಸ್ಥನಿಗೆ--ನಾವು ಈ ಸುನ್ನತಿ ಇಲ್ಲದವರ ಠಾಣಕ್ಕೆ ದಾಟಿಹೋಗೋಣ ಬಾ; ಒಂದು ವೇಳೆ ದೇವರು ನಮಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಕಾರ್ಯ ನಡಿಸುವನು. ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಅನೇಕ ಜನರಿಂದಾದರೂ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಜನರಿಂದಾದರೂ ರಕ್ಷಿಸುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಕರ್ತನಿಗೆ ಯಾವ ಆಟಂಕವಿಲ್ಲ ಅಂದನು.

Aaga yonaataananu tanna aayudhagalannu hidiyuva yauvanasthanige--naavu ee sunnati illadavara thaanakke daatihogona baa; ondu vele devaru namagoskara kaarya nadisuvanu. Yaakandare aneka janarindaadaroo svalpa janarindaadaroo rakshisuvadakke kartanige yaava aatankavilla andanu.

King James Version (KJV): And Jonathan said to the young man that bare his armour, Come, and let us go over unto the garrison of these uncircumcised: it may be that the LORD will work for us: for [there is] no restraint to the LORD to save by many or by few.

4ಯೋನಾತಾನನು ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿ ಯರ ಠಾಣಕ್ಕೆ ದಾಟಿ ಹೋಗಬೇಕೆಂದು ಹುಡುಕಿದ ಮಾರ್ಗದ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಕಡೆ ಆ ಕಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬೋಚೇಚ್‌ ಸೆನೆ ಎಂಬ ಚೂಪಾದ ಎರಡು ಬಂಡೆ ಗಳಿದ್ದವು.
5ಆ ಬಂಡೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಉತ್ತರಕ್ಕೆ ಮಿಕ್ಮಾಷಿಗೆ ಎದುರಾಗಿಯೂ ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ದಕ್ಷಿಣಕ್ಕೆ ಗಿಬೆಗೆ ಎದುರಾಗಿಯೂ ಇತ್ತು.
6ಆಗ ಯೋನಾತಾನನು ತನ್ನ ಆಯುಧಗಳನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿಯುವ ಯೌವನಸ್ಥನಿಗೆ--ನಾವು ಈ ಸುನ್ನತಿ ಇಲ್ಲದವರ ಠಾಣಕ್ಕೆ ದಾಟಿಹೋಗೋಣ ಬಾ; ಒಂದು ವೇಳೆ ದೇವರು ನಮಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಕಾರ್ಯ ನಡಿಸುವನು. ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಅನೇಕ ಜನರಿಂದಾದರೂ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಜನರಿಂದಾದರೂ ರಕ್ಷಿಸುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಕರ್ತನಿಗೆ ಯಾವ ಆಟಂಕವಿಲ್ಲ ಅಂದನು.
7ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವನ ಆಯುಧಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊರುವವನು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ನಿನ್ನ ಹೃದಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುವದನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಮಾಡು, ನಡೆ; ಇಗೋ, ನಿನ್ನ ಹೃದಯಕ್ಕೆ ಸರಿಯಾಗಿ ನಾನೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದೇನೆ ಅಂದನು.
8ಆಗ ಯೋನಾತಾನನುಇಗೋ, ನಾವು ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ದಾಟಿ ಹೋಗಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಕಾಣಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವೆವು.
