3. 26ಆಗ ದಾವೀದನು ತನ್ನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತಿದ್ದ ಮನುಷ್ಯರಿಗೆ--ಈ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಮೇಲಿನಿಂದ ನಿಂದೆಯನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಬಿಡುವ ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಿಗೆ ಏನು ಮಾಡಲ್ಪಡುವದು? ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಸುನ್ನತಿ ಇಲ್ಲದ ಈ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯನು ಜೀವವುಳ್ಳ ದೇವರ ಸೈನ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಹೀಯಾ ಳಿಸುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಎಷ್ಟರವನು ಅಂದನು.
4. 27ಜನರು ಆ ಮಾತಿಗೆ ಸರಿಯಾಗಿ--ಅವನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದವನಿಗೆ ಈ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಮಾಡಲ್ಪಡುವದೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು;
5. 28ಆದರೆ ಅವನು ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಿರು ವದನ್ನು ಅವನ ಹಿರಿಯ ಸಹೋದರನಾದ ಎಲೀಯಾ ಬನು ಕೇಳಿ ಅವನ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೋಪಗೊಂಡು--ನೀನು ಇಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಬಂದದ್ದೇನು? ಅಡವಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಆ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಕುರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಯಾರ ವಶಕ್ಕೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿ ಬಂದೆ? ನಿನ್ನ ಗರ್ವವನ್ನೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಹೃದಯದ ಅಹಂಕಾರವನ್ನೂ ನಾನು ಬಲ್ಲೆನು; ನೀನು ಯುದ್ಧವನ್ನು ನೋಡಲು ಇಳಿದು ಬಂದಿದ್ದೀ ಅಂದನು.
