ದಾವೀದನು ಹೇಳಿದ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದವರು ಸೌಲನಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು. ಅವನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕರೇ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು.

Daaveedanu helida maatugalannu kelidavaru saulanige tilisidaru. Avanu avanannu kare kaluhisidanu.

29ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ದಾವೀದನು--ನಾನು ಈಗ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೇನು? ಮಾತನಾಡಿದೆನಷ್ಟೆ ಅಂದನು.
30ಅವನನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಬೇರೊಬ್ಬನ ಕಡೆಗೆ ತಿರಿಗಿಕೊಂಡು ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಕೇಳಿದನು. ಆಗ ಜನರು ಮೊದಲು ಹೇಳಿದ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರಕೊಟ್ಟರು.
31ದಾವೀದನು ಹೇಳಿದ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದವರು ಸೌಲನಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು. ಅವನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕರೇ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು.
32ಆಗ ದಾವೀದನು ಸೌಲನಿಗೆ--ಅವನ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ವಾಗಿ ಯಾವನ ಹೃದಯವು ಕುಗ್ಗಬಾರದು; ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನು ಹೋಗಿ ಈ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯನ ಸಂಗಡ ಯುದ್ಧ ಮಾಡುವನು ಅಂದನು.
33ಆಗ ಸೌಲನು ದಾವೀದ ನಿಗೆ--ಈ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯನ ಮೇಲೆ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡಲು ನಿನ್ನಿಂದಾಗದು; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ನೀನು ಹುಡುಗನಾಗಿದ್ದೀ; ಅವನು ಚಿಕ್ಕಂದಿನಿಂದ ಯುದ್ಧದ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ ಅಂದನು.
