ಅವನನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಬೇರೊಬ್ಬನ ಕಡೆಗೆ ತಿರಿಗಿಕೊಂಡು ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಕೇಳಿದನು. ಆಗ ಜನರು ಮೊದಲು ಹೇಳಿದ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರಕೊಟ್ಟರು.

28ಆದರೆ ಅವನು ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಿರು ವದನ್ನು ಅವನ ಹಿರಿಯ ಸಹೋದರನಾದ ಎಲೀಯಾ ಬನು ಕೇಳಿ ಅವನ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೋಪಗೊಂಡು--ನೀನು ಇಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಬಂದದ್ದೇನು? ಅಡವಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಆ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಕುರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಯಾರ ವಶಕ್ಕೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿ ಬಂದೆ? ನಿನ್ನ ಗರ್ವವನ್ನೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಹೃದಯದ ಅಹಂಕಾರವನ್ನೂ ನಾನು ಬಲ್ಲೆನು; ನೀನು ಯುದ್ಧವನ್ನು ನೋಡಲು ಇಳಿದು ಬಂದಿದ್ದೀ ಅಂದನು.
29ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ದಾವೀದನು--ನಾನು ಈಗ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೇನು? ಮಾತನಾಡಿದೆನಷ್ಟೆ ಅಂದನು.
30ಅವನನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಬೇರೊಬ್ಬನ ಕಡೆಗೆ ತಿರಿಗಿಕೊಂಡು ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಕೇಳಿದನು. ಆಗ ಜನರು ಮೊದಲು ಹೇಳಿದ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರಕೊಟ್ಟರು.
31ದಾವೀದನು ಹೇಳಿದ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದವರು ಸೌಲನಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು. ಅವನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕರೇ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು.
32ಆಗ ದಾವೀದನು ಸೌಲನಿಗೆ--ಅವನ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ವಾಗಿ ಯಾವನ ಹೃದಯವು ಕುಗ್ಗಬಾರದು; ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನು ಹೋಗಿ ಈ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯನ ಸಂಗಡ ಯುದ್ಧ ಮಾಡುವನು ಅಂದನು.
