1. 6ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವನು ಯೆಹೂದದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೋಟೆ ಗಳುಳ್ಳ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಸಿದನು. ದೇಶವು ಶಾಂತವಾ ಗಿತ್ತು. ಕರ್ತನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ವಿಶ್ರಾಂತಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟದ್ದರಿಂದ ಆ ವರುಷಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಯುದ್ಧವಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ.
2. 7ಅವನು ಯೆಹೂದದವರಿಗೆ--ದೇಶವು ನಮ್ಮ ಮುಂದೆ ಇರು ವಾಗ ಈ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಸಿ ಅವುಗಳ ಸುತ್ತಲೂ ಗೋಡೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ಗೋಪುರಗಳನ್ನೂ ಬಾಗಲುಗಳನ್ನೂ ಅಗುಳಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಮಾಡೋಣ; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ನಾವು ನಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕಿದೆವು; ನಾವು ಆತನನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಆತನು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಮಗೆ ವಿಶ್ರಾಂತಿಯನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾನೆ ಅಂದನು.
3. 8ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಅವರು ಕಟ್ಟಿಸಿ ವೃದ್ಧಿಹೊಂದಿದರು. ಇದ ಲ್ಲದೆ ಆಸನಿಗೆ ಖೇಡ್ಯಗಳನ್ನೂ ಈಟಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಹಿಡಿ ಯುವ ರಾಣುವೆ ಇತ್ತು. ಯೆಹೂದದವರು ಮೂರು ಲಕ್ಷಮಂದಿಯೂ ಬೆನ್ಯಾವಿಾನಿನವರು ಗುರಾಣಿಗಳನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿಯುವವರೂ, ಬಿಲ್ಲುಗಳನ್ನು ಎಸೆಯುವವರೂ ಎರಡು ಲಕ್ಷದ ಎಂಭತ್ತು ಸಾವಿರ ಮಂದಿಯೂ ಇದ್ದರು. ಇವರೆಲ್ಲರು ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಶಾಲಿಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದರು.
4. 9ಆದರೆ ಕೂಷಿಯನಾದ ಜೆರಹನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ವಿರೋ ಧವಾಗಿ ಹೊರಟು ಮಾರೇಷದ ಮಟ್ಟಿಗೂ ಬಂದನು. ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಹತ್ತು ಲಕ್ಷ ಜನ ರಾಣುವೆಯೂ ಮುನ್ನೂರು ರಥಗಳೂ ಇದ್ದವು.
5. 10ಆಸನು ಅವನಿ ಗೆದುರಾಗಿ ಹೊರಟುಹೋದನು. ಮಾರೇಷದ ಬಳಿ ಯಲ್ಲಿ ಚೆಫಾತಾ ತಗ್ಗಿನಲ್ಲಿ ವ್ಯೂಹ ಕಟ್ಟಿದರು.
