And it came to pass, as soon as he had made an end of offering the burnt offering, that Jehu said to the guard and to the captains, Go in, [and] slay them; let none come forth. And they smote them with the edge of the sword; and the guard and the captains cast [them] out, and went to the city of the house of Baal.

As soon as he had finished offering the burnt offering, Jehu said to the guard and to the captains, “Go in and kill them! Let no one escape.” So they struck them with the edge of the sword. The guard and the captains threw the bodies out, and went to the inner shrine of the house of Baal.

1. 23ಆಗ ಯೇಹುವೂ ರೆಕಾಬನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೆಹೋನಾದಾಬನೂ ಬಾಳನ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಿ ದರು. ಅವರು ಬಾಳನನ್ನು ಆರಾಧಿಸುವವರ ಹೊರತು ಅವರ ಸಂಗಡ ಕರ್ತನ ಸೇವಕರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನಾದರೂ ಇರದ ಹಾಗೆ ಶೋಧಿಸಿ ನೋಡಿರಿ ಎಂದು ಬಾಳನನ್ನು ಆರಾಧಿಸುವವರಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದರು.
2. 24ಅವರು ಬಲಿಗ ಳನ್ನೂ ದಹನಬಲಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಅರ್ಪಿಸಲು ಒಳಗೆ ಪ್ರವೇ ಶಿಸಿದ ತರುವಾಯ ಯೇಹುವು ಹೊರಗೆ ಎಂಭತ್ತು ಮಂದಿಯನ್ನು ಇರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಅವರಿಗೆ--ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕೈಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿದ ಜನರಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವನಾದರೂ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೋದರೆ ಅವನ ಪ್ರಾಣಕ್ಕೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರಾಣ ಈಡಾಗಿ ರುವದು ಅಂದನು.
3. 25ಅವನು ದಹನಬಲಿಯನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿ ತೀರಿಸಿದ ತರುವಾಯ ಏನಾಯಿತಂದರೆ, ಯೇಹುವು ಕಾವಲುಗಾರನಿಗೂ ಅಧಿಪತಿಗಳಿಗೂನೀವು ಒಳಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಯಾವನೂ ಹೊರಗೆ ಬಾರದ ಹಾಗೆ ಅವರನ್ನು ಸಂಹರಿಸಿರಿ ಅಂದನು.
4. 26ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಅವರನ್ನು ಕತ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಸಂಹರಿಸಿದರು. ಕಾವಲು ಗಾರನೂ ಅಧಿಪತಿಗಳೂ ಅವರನ್ನು ಹೊರಗೆ ಹಾಕಿದ ತರುವಾಯ ಬಾಳನ ಮನೆಯ ಪಟ್ಟಣಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಬಾಳನ ಮನೆಯಿಂದ ವಿಗ್ರಹವನ್ನು ತಂದು ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಸುಟ್ಟುಬಿಟ್ಟರು.
5. 27ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವರು ಬಾಳನ ವಿಗ್ರಹ ವನ್ನು ಒಡೆದುಹಾಕಿ ಬಾಳನ ಮನೆಯನ್ನು ಕೆಡವಿಬಿಟ್ಟು ಅದನ್ನು ಈ ಹೊತ್ತಿನ ವರೆಗೂ ತಿಪ್ಪೆಯಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿದರು.
