1. 16ಆ ಮೇಲೆ ಹುಡುಗಿಯ ತಂದೆಯು ಹಿರಿಯರಿಗೆ ಹೇಳತಕ್ಕದ್ದೇ ನೆಂದರೆ--ನನ್ನ ಮಗಳನ್ನು ಈ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಿಗೆ ಹೆಂಡತಿ ಯಾಗಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೇನೆ; ಅವನು ಅವಳನ್ನು ಹಗೆಮಾಡಿ ದ್ದಾನೆ;
2. 17ಇಗೋ, ಅವನು--ನಿನ್ನ ಮಗಳು ಕನ್ಯಾಸ್ತ್ರೀ ಅಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ಕಂಡೆನೆಂಬದಾಗಿ ಅವಳಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾದ ಕೆಟ್ಟಮಾತಿಗೆ ಆಸ್ಪದಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾನೆ; ಆದರೂ ಇದೆ ನನ್ನ ಮಗಳ ಕನ್ಯಾಭಾವದ ಲಕ್ಷಣಗಳು. ಹೀಗೆ ಅವರು ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಹಿರಿಯರ ಮುಂದೆ ಬಟ್ಟೆಯನ್ನು ಹಾಸಬೇಕು.
3. 18ಆಗ ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಹಿರಿಯರು ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಅವನನ್ನು ಶಿಕ್ಷಿಸಬೇಕು.
4. 19ಅವನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬ ಕನ್ಯಾ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ಕೆಡಿಸಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವನು ಬೆಳ್ಳಿಯ ನೂರು ಹಣಗಳನ್ನು ದಂಡ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಆ ಹುಡುಗಿಯ ತಂದೆಗೆ ಕೊಡಬೇಕು; ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವಳು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಹೆಂಡತಿ ಯಾಗಬೇಕು; ಅವನು ಬದುಕುವ ದಿವಸಗಳೆಲ್ಲಾ ಅವಳನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಬಾರದು.
5. 20ಈ ಮಾತು ಸತ್ಯವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಆ ಹುಡುಗಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕನ್ಯಾಭಾವದ ಲಕ್ಷಣ ಕಾಣದೆ ಇದ್ದರೆ
