ತಂದೆಗಳು ಮಕ್ಕಳ ನಿಮಿತ್ತವೂ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ತಂದೆಗಳ ನಿಮಿತ್ತವೂ ಕೊಲ್ಲಲ್ಪಡಬಾರದು; ಒಬ್ಬೊಬ್ಬನು ತನ್ನ ಪಾಪದ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ಕೊಲ್ಲಲ್ಪಡಬೇಕು.

- 18ನೀನು ಐಗುಪ್ತದಲ್ಲಿ ದಾಸನಾಗಿದ್ದಿ ಎಂದೂ ನಿನ್ನ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ವಿಮೋಚಿಸಿದ ನೆಂದೂ ಜ್ಞಾಪಕಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು; ಆದದರಿಂದ ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ನಾನು ನಿನಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ.
