ಆಗ ಯೆಹೂದ ಮತ್ತು ಬೆನ್ಯಾವಿಾನಿನ ಮನುಷ್ಯರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಮೂರು ದಿವಸಗಳೊಳಗೆ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕೂಡಿ ದರು. ಅದು ಒಂಭತ್ತನೇ ತಿಂಗಳ ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತನೇ ದಿವಸ ವಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರು ದೇವರ ಆಲಯದ ಬೀದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಆ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ಕೊಸ್ಕರವೂ ಮಳೆಗೋಸ್ಕರವೂ ನಡುಗಿ ಕೂತುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರು.

King James Version (KJV): Then all the men of Judah and Benjamin gathered themselves together unto Jerusalem within three days. It [was] the ninth month, on the twentieth [day] of the month; and all the people sat in the street of the house of God, trembling because of [this] matter, and for the great rain.

7ಆಗ ಸೆರೆಯ ಮಕ್ಕಳೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿಗೆ ಕೂಡಿ ಬರಬೇಕೆಂದು ಯೆಹೂದ ಮತ್ತು ಯೆರೂಸ ಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಎಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಿದರು.
8ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಯಾವನಾದರೂ ಪ್ರಧಾನರ, ಹಿರಿಯರ ಯೋಚನೆಯ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಮೂರು ದಿವಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಾರದೆ ಇದ್ದರೆ ಅವನ ಆಸ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಾ ದಂಡವಾಗಿ ತಕ್ಕೊಳ್ಳಲ್ಪಡುವದೆಂದೂ ಅವನು ಸೆರೆಯಾಗಿ ಒಯ್ಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟವರ ಕೂಟದಿಂದ ಹೊರಗೆ ಹಾಕಲ್ಪಡುವನೆಂದೂ ಸಾರಿದರು.

10ಆಗ ಯಾಜಕನಾದ ಎಜ್ರನು ಎದ್ದು ಅವರಿಗೆ--ನೀವು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರ ಅಪರಾಧ ವನ್ನು ಅಧಿಕವಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಲು ಅನ್ಯಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರನು್ನು ಮದುವೆಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅಕೃತ್ಯ ಮಾಡಿದಿರಿ.
11ಆದದರಿಂದ ನೀವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪಿತೃಗಳ ದೇವರಾಗಿರುವ ಕರ್ತನ ಮುಂದೆ ಅರಿಕೆಮಾಡಿ, ಆತನ ಚಿತ್ತದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಮಾಡಿ, ಈ ದೇಶದ ಜನರಿಂದಲೂ ಅನ್ಯಸ್ತ್ರೀಯ ರಿಂದಲೂ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಪ್ರತ್ಯೇಕಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ ಅಂದನು.
