ಭೂಮಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಬೆಳಕುಕೊಡುವದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ದೇವರು ಆಕಾಶದ ವಿಶಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಇರಿಸಿದನು.

15ಅವು ಭೂಮಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಬೆಳಕುಕೊಡುವಂತೆ ಆಕಾಶದ ವಿಶಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಳಕುಗಳಾಗಿರಲಿ ಅಂದನು. ಅದು ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಆಯಿತು.
16ದೇವರು ಎರಡು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಬೆಳಕುಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದನು; ದೊಡ್ಡ ಬೆಳಕು ಹಗಲನ್ನಾಳುವದಕ್ಕೂ ಚಿಕ್ಕ ಬೆಳಕು ರಾತ್ರಿಯನ್ನಾಳು ವದಕ್ಕೂ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಲ್ಲದೆ ನಕ್ಷತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಸಹ ಮಾಡಿ ದನು.
17ಭೂಮಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಬೆಳಕುಕೊಡುವದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ದೇವರು ಆಕಾಶದ ವಿಶಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಇರಿಸಿದನು.
18ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವು ಹಗಲನ್ನು ಮತ್ತು ರಾತ್ರಿಯನ್ನು ಆಳುವದಕ್ಕೂ ಬೆಳಕನ್ನು ಕತ್ತಲೆಯಿಂದ ಬೇರೆ ಮಾಡುವದಕ್ಕೂ ಇರಿಸಿದನು. ದೇವರು ಅದನ್ನು ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದೆಂದು ನೋಡಿದನು.
19ಹೀಗೆ ಸಾಯಂಕಾಲವೂ ಪ್ರಾತಃಕಾಲವೂ ಆಗಿ ನಾಲ್ಕನೆಯ ದಿನವಾಯಿತು.
