ಹೀಗೆ ಕರ್ತನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಭೂಮಿಯ ಮೇಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ಚದರಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟನು. ಆಗ ಅವರು ಪಟ್ಟಣ ಕಟ್ಟುವದನ್ನು ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿ ಬಿಟ್ಟರು.

- 6ಕರ್ತನು--ಇಗೋ, ಜನವು ಒಂದೇ; ಅವರೆಲ್ಲರಿಗೆ ಭಾಷೆಯೂ ಒಂದೇ. ಈಗ ಅವರು ಇದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಲಾರಂಭಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ; ಇನ್ನು ಮುಂದೆ ಅವರು ಮಾಡುವದಕ್ಕೂ ಊಹಿಸುವದಕ್ಕೂ ಅಡ್ಡಿ ಯಾಗದು.
- 7ಆದದರಿಂದ ನಾವು ಇಳಿದು ಹೋಗಿ ಅವರು ಒಬ್ಬರ ಮಾತು ಒಬ್ಬರು ತಿಳಿಯದ ಹಾಗೆ ಅವರ ಭಾಷೆಯನ್ನು ಗಲಿಬಿಲಿ ಮಾಡೋಣ ಅಂದನು.
- 8ಹೀಗೆ ಕರ್ತನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಭೂಮಿಯ ಮೇಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ಚದರಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟನು. ಆಗ ಅವರು ಪಟ್ಟಣ ಕಟ್ಟುವದನ್ನು ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿ ಬಿಟ್ಟರು.
- 9ಆದದರಿಂದ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಬಾಬೆಲ್‌ ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರಾಯಿತು; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಕರ್ತನು ಭೂಮಿಯ ಮೇಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ಭಾಷೆಗಳನ್ನು ಗಲಿಬಿಲಿ ಮಾಡಿದನು; ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಕರ್ತನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಭೂಮಿಯ ಮೇಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ಚದರಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟನು.
- 10ಶೇಮನ ವಂಶಾವಳಿಗಳು ಇವೇ; ಶೇಮನು ನೂರು ವರುಷದವನಾಗಿದ್ದಾಗ ಅಂದರೆ ಪ್ರಳಯವಾಗಿ ಎರಡು ವರುಷಗಳಾದ ಮೇಲೆ ಅವನಿಂದ ಅರ್ಪಕ್ಷದನು ಹುಟ್ಟಿದನು.
