1. 22ಆಗ ಅವಳ ಗರ್ಭ ದಲ್ಲಿ ಶಿಶುಗಳು ಒಂದನ್ನೊಂದು ನೂಕಿಕೊಂಡಾಗ ಆಕೆಯು--ಯಾಕೆ ನನಗೆ ಹೀಗೆ ಆಗುತ್ತಿರುವದು ಎಂದು ವಿಚಾರಿಸುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಕರ್ತನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋದಳು.
2. 23ಕರ್ತನು ಆಕೆಗೆ--ನಿನ್ನ ಹೊಟ್ಟೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಎರಡು ಜನಾಂಗಗಳು ಇವೆ. ನಿನ್ನ ಗರ್ಭದೊಳಗಿನಿಂದಲೇ ಎರಡು ತರವಾದ ಜನಗಳು ಬೇರೆಬೇರೆಯಾಗುವರು. ಒಂದು ತರವಾದ ಜನಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಬಲಗೊಳ್ಳು ವದು. ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಹಿರಿಯನು ಕಿರಿಯನನ್ನು ಸೇವಿಸುವನು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
3. 24ಆಕೆಯು ಹೆರುವದಕ್ಕೆ ದಿನಗಳು ಪೂರ್ತಿಯಾ ದಾಗ ಇಗೋ, ಆಕೆಯ ಗರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವಳಿ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿದ್ದರು.
4. 25ಮೊದಲನೆಯವನು ಕೆಂಪಾಗಿಯೂ ಕೂದಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ವಸ್ತ್ರದಂತೆ ಇರುವವನಾಗಿಯೂ ಹೊರ ಬಂದಾಗ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಏಸಾವ ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರಿಟ್ಟರು.
5. 26ತರುವಾಯ ಅವನ ತಮ್ಮನು ಏಸಾವನ ಹಿಮ್ಮಡಿಯನ್ನು ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಹಿಡುಕೊಂಡು ಹೊರಗೆ ಬಂದನು. ಅವನಿಗೆ ಯಾಕೋಬ ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರಿಟ್ಟರು. ಆಕೆಯು ಇವರನ್ನು ಹೆತ್ತಾಗ ಇಸಾಕನು ಅರುವತ್ತು ವರುಷದವನಾಗಿದ್ದನು.
