ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಲಾಬಾನನು--ಹಿರಿಯಳಿಗಿಂತ ಮುಂಚೆ ಕಿರಿಯಳನ್ನು ಕೊಡುವದು ನಮ್ಮ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಲ್ಲ.

24ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಲಾಬಾನನು ತನ್ನ ದಾಸಿಯಾದ ಜಿಲ್ಪಾಳನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಮಗಳಾದ ಲೇಯಳಿಗೆ ದಾಸಿಯಾಗಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟನು.
25ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ ನೋಡಲಾಗಿ ಆಕೆಯು ಲೇಯಳಾಗಿದ್ದಳು. ಆಗ ಅವನು ಲಾಬಾನನಿಗೆ--ಇದೇನು ನೀನು ನನಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಿ? ರಾಹೇಲಳಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇವೆಮಾಡಿದೆನಲ್ಲಾ? ಯಾಕೆ ನನಗೆ ಮೋಸಮಾಡಿದಿ ಅಂದನು.
26ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಲಾಬಾನನು--ಹಿರಿಯಳಿಗಿಂತ ಮುಂಚೆ ಕಿರಿಯಳನ್ನು ಕೊಡುವದು ನಮ್ಮ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಲ್ಲ.
27ಈಕೆಯ ವಾರವನ್ನು ಪೂರೈಸು. ತರುವಾಯ ನೀನು ನನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಬೇರೆ ಏಳು ವರುಷಗಳ ವರೆಗೆ ಸೇವೆಮಾಡಿದರೆ ನಾವು ಆಕೆಯನ್ನೂ ನಿನಗೆ ಕೊಡು ತ್ತೇವೆ ಅಂದನು.
28ಯಾಕೋಬನು ಅದರಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿ ಅವಳ ವಾರವನ್ನು ಪೂರೈಸಿದನು. ಆಗ ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಮಗಳಾದ ರಾಹೇಳಲನ್ನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಹೆಂಡತಿ ಯಾಗಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟನು.
