ರಾಹೇಲಳು ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆಗೆ--ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನ ಮುಂದೆ ಏಳಲಾರದೆ ಇರುವದರಿಂದ ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಭುವೇ, ನಿನಗೆ ಕೋಪಬಾರದೆ ಇರಲಿ. ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರ ಕ್ರಮ ನನಗೆ ಆಗಿದೆ ಅಂದಳು. ಅವನು ಆ ವಿಗ್ರಹಗಳನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕಿ ಕಂಡುಕೊಳ್ಳದೆ ಹೋದನು.

Raahelalu tanna tandege--naanu ninna munde elalaarade iruvadarinda nanna prabhuve, ninage kopabaarade irali. Yaakandare streeyara krama nanage aagide andalu. Avanu aa vigrahagalannu huduki kandukollade hodanu.

King James Version (KJV): And she said to her father, Let it not displease my lord that I cannot rise up before thee; for the custom of women [is] upon me. And he searched, but found not the images.

33ಆಗ ಲಾಬಾನನು ಯಾಕೋಬನ ಗುಡಾರದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಲೇಯಳ ಗುಡಾರದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಆ ಇಬ್ಬರು ದಾಸಿಯರ ಗುಡಾರಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಹೋಗಿ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿಲ್ಲ; ಲೇಯಳ ಗುಡಾರದಿಂದ ಹೊರಟು ರಾಹೇಲಳ ಗುಡಾರದೊಳಗೆ ಹೋದನು.
34ಆದರೆ ರಾಹೇಲಳು ವಿಗ್ರಹಗಳನ್ನು ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಒಂಟೆಯ ಸಾಮಗ್ರಿಯಲ್ಲಿಟ್ಟು ಅದರ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೂತುಕೊಂಡಳು. ಲಾಬಾನನು ಗುಡಾರವನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಹುಡುಕಿದಾಗ್ಯೂ ಅವನು ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಕಂಡುಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿಲ್ಲ.
35ರಾಹೇಲಳು ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆಗೆ--ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನ ಮುಂದೆ ಏಳಲಾರದೆ ಇರುವದರಿಂದ ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಭುವೇ, ನಿನಗೆ ಕೋಪಬಾರದೆ ಇರಲಿ. ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರ ಕ್ರಮ ನನಗೆ ಆಗಿದೆ ಅಂದಳು. ಅವನು ಆ ವಿಗ್ರಹಗಳನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕಿ ಕಂಡುಕೊಳ್ಳದೆ ಹೋದನು.
36ಆಗ ಯಾಕೋಬನು ಕೋಪಗೊಂಡು ಲಾಬಾ ನನ ಕೂಡ ವಾದಿಸಿದನು. ಯಾಕೋಬನು ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರ ವಾಗಿ ಲಾಬಾನನಿಗೆ--ನೀನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಬೆನ್ನಟ್ಟಿ ಬರು ವದಕ್ಕೆ ನನ್ನ ಅಪರಾಧವೇನು? ನನ್ನ ಪಾಪವೇನು?
37ನೀನು ನನ್ನ ಸಾಮಾನುಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಹುಡಿಕಿದ ಮೇಲೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಮನೆಯ ಸಾಮಾನುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಏನು ಕಂಡುಕೊಂಡಿ? ನನಗೂ ನಿನಗೂ ಸಹೋದರರಾಗಿರುವವರ ಮುಂದೆ ಅದನ್ನು ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಇಡು. ಅವರೇ ನಮ್ಮಿಬ್ಬರ ಮಧ್ಯೆ ನ್ಯಾಯತೀರಿಸಲಿ.
