ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಇನ್ನು ಮೇಲೆ ರೊಟ್ಟಿ ಇಲ್ಲ ಅಂದನು. ಆಗ ಅರಸನು ಕೂಷ್ಯನಾದ ಎಬೆದ್ಮೆಲೆಕನಿಗೆ ನೀನು ಇಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಮೂವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ಮನುಷ್ಯರನ್ನು ಕರಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯಾದ ಯೆರೆವಿಾಯನನ್ನು ಅವನು ಸಾಯುವದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಮುಂಚೆ ಕುಣಿಯೊಳಗಿಂದ ಎತ್ತೆಂದು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದನು.

- 11ಆಗ ಎಬೆದ್ಮೆಲೆಕನು ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯರನ್ನು ಕರಕೊಂಡು ಖಜಾನೆ ಕೆಳಗಿರುವ ಅರಮನೆಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಹರಿದು ಹೋದ ಹಳೇ ಬಟ್ಟೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ಸವೆದು ಹೋದ ಹಳೇ ವಸ್ತ್ರಗಳನ್ನೂ ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಹಗ್ಗಗಳಿಂದ ಯೆರೆವಿಾಯನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕುಣಿಯೊಳಗೆ ಇಳಿಸಿದನು.
- 12ಕೂಷ್ಯನಾದ ಎಬೆದ್ಮೆಲೆಕನು ಯೆರೆವಿಾಯನಿಗೆ-- ಹರಿದು ಸವೆದು ಹೋದ ಈ ಹಳೇಬಟ್ಟೆಗಳನ್ನು ಹಗ್ಗಗಳ ಕೆಳಗೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಕಂಕಳುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಇಟ್ಟುಕೋ ಅಂದನು; ಯೆರೆ ವಿಾಯನು ಹಾಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದನು.
