ಎಬೆದ್ಮೆಲೆ ಕನು ಅರಸನ ಮನೆಯಿಂದ ಹೊರಟು ಅರಸನ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತ ನಾಡಿ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ--

6ಆಗ ಅವರು ಯೆರೆವಿಾಯನನ್ನು ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಸೆರೆಮನೆಯ ಅಂಗಳದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಹಮ್ಮೇಲೆಕನ ಮಗನಾದ ಮಲ್ಕೀಯನ ಕುಣಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಿದರು; ಅವರು ಯೆರೆವಿಾಯನನ್ನು ಹಗ್ಗಗಳಿಂದ ಇಳಿಸಿದರು; ಆ ಕುಣಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನೀರು ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ; ಕೆಸರು ಮಾತ್ರ ಇತ್ತು; ಯೆರೆವಿಾಯನು ಕೆಸರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಣುಗಿದನು.
7ಆಗ ಅರಸನ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಕಂಚುಕಿಯಾದ ಎಬೆದೆಲ್ಮೆಕನೆಂಬ ಕೂಷ್ಯನು ಯೆರೆವಿಾಯನನ್ನು ಅವರು ಕುಣಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಿದರೆಂದು ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ ಅರಸನು ಬೆನ್ಯಾವಿಾನನ ಬಾಗಲಲ್ಲಿ ಕೂತಿರಲಾಗಿ,
8ಎಬೆದ್ಮೆಲೆ ಕನು ಅರಸನ ಮನೆಯಿಂದ ಹೊರಟು ಅರಸನ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತ ನಾಡಿ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ--
9ಅರಸನಾದ ನನ್ನೊ ಡೆಯನೇ, ಈ ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ಕುಣಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಿದ ಪ್ರವಾ ದಿಯಾದ ಯೆರೆವಿಾಯನಿಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕೇಡಿಗಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ; ಅವನು ಇರುವಲ್ಲಿ ಹಸಿವೆಯಿಂದ ಸಾಯುವವನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ;
10ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಇನ್ನು ಮೇಲೆ ರೊಟ್ಟಿ ಇಲ್ಲ ಅಂದನು. ಆಗ ಅರಸನು ಕೂಷ್ಯನಾದ ಎಬೆದ್ಮೆಲೆಕನಿಗೆ ನೀನು ಇಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಮೂವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ಮನುಷ್ಯರನ್ನು ಕರಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯಾದ ಯೆರೆವಿಾಯನನ್ನು ಅವನು ಸಾಯುವದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಮುಂಚೆ ಕುಣಿಯೊಳಗಿಂದ ಎತ್ತೆಂದು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದನು.
