ನಾಮಾಥ್ಯನಾದ ಚೋಫರನು ಉತ್ತರ ಕೊಟ್ಟು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ--
Then answered Zophar the Naamathite, and said,
ಆದದರಿಂದ ನನ್ನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಆತುರಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರವೇ ನನ್ನ ಆಲೋಚನೆಗಳು ನನಗೆ ಉತ್ತರ ಕೊಡುತ್ತವೆ.
Therefore do my thoughts cause me to answer, and for [this] I make haste.
ನನ್ನನ್ನು ನಿಂದಿಸುವ ಶಿಕ್ಷೆಯನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದ್ದೇನೆ; ಆದರೆ ನನ್ನ ಆತ್ಮವು ನನ್ನ ಗ್ರಹಿಕೆಯ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ನನಗೆ ಉತ್ತರ ಕೊಡುವದು.
I have heard the check of my reproach, and the spirit of my understanding causeth me to answer.
ಇದನ್ನು ಆದಿಯಿಂದಲೂ ಅಂದರೆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನನ್ನು ಭೂಮಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಇಟ್ಟಂದಿನಿಂದಲೂ ನೀನು ತಿಳಿಯಲಿಲ್ಲವೋ?
Knowest thou [not] this of old, since man was placed upon earth,
ಏನಂದರೆ, ದುಷ್ಟರ ಜಯವು ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಕಾಲದ್ದೂ ಕಪಟಿಗಳ ಸಂತೋಷವು ಕ್ಷಣ ಮಾತ್ರದ್ದೂ.
That the triumphing of the wicked [is] short, and the joy of the hypocrite [but] for a moment?
ಅವನ ಮಹತ್ತು ಆಕಾಶಕ್ಕೆ ಏರಿದರೂ ಅವನ ತಲೆ ಮೇಘಕ್ಕೆ ಮುಟ್ಟಿದರೂ
Though his excellency mount up to the heavens, and his head reach unto the clouds;
ತನ್ನ ಅಮೇಧ್ಯದ ಹಾಗೆ ನಿತ್ಯವಾಗಿ ನಾಶವಾಗುವನು; ಅವನನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದ ವರು-- ಅವನು ಎಲ್ಲಿ ಅನ್ನುವರು.
[Yet] he shall perish for ever like his own dung: they which have seen him shall say, Where [is] he?
ಕನಸಿನ ಹಾಗೆ ಅವನು ಕಾಣದೆ ಹಾರಿಹೋಗುವನು; ರಾತ್ರಿಯ ದರ್ಶನದ ಹಾಗೆ ಓಡಿಸಲ್ಪಡುವನು.
He shall fly away as a dream, and shall not be found: yea, he shall be chased away as a vision of the night.
ಅವನನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದ ಕಣ್ಣು ಇನ್ನು ನೋಡದು; ಅವನ ಸ್ಥಳವನ್ನು ಇನ್ನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕಾಣದು.
The eye also [which] saw him shall [see him] no more; neither shall his place any more behold him.
ಅವನ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಬಡವ ರನ್ನು ಮೆಚ್ಚಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ; ಅವನ ಕೈಗಳು ಅವರ ವಸ್ತುಗ ಳನ್ನು ತಿರುಗಿ ಕೊಡುತ್ತವೆ.
His children shall seek to please the poor, and his hands shall restore their goods.
ಅವನ ಎಲುಬುಗಳು ಯೌವನ ಪಾಪದಿಂದ ತುಂಬಿದ್ದರೂ ಅದು ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಧೂಳಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಮಲಗುವದು.
His bones are full [of the sin] of his youth, which shall lie down with him in the dust.
ಅವನ ಬಾಯಿಗೆ ಕೆಟ್ಟತನವು ಸಿಹಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದಾಗ್ಯೂ ನಾಲಿಗೆಯ ಕೆಳಗೆ ಅದನ್ನು ಬಚ್ಚಿಟ್ಟರೂ
Though wickedness be sweet in his mouth, [though] he hide it under his tongue;
ಅದನ್ನು ಕನಿಕರಿಸಿ ಅದನ್ನು ಬಿಡದೆ ತನ್ನ ಬಾಯಿಯೊಳಗೆ ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡರೂ
[Though] he spare it, and forsake it not; but keep it still within his mouth:
ಅವನ ಆಹಾರವು ಅವನ ಕರು ಳುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾರ್ಪಟ್ಟು ಅವನ ಉಡಿಲಲ್ಲಿ ಸರ್ಪದ ವಿಷವಾಗುವದು.
[Yet] his meat in his bowels is turned, [it is] the gall of asps within him.
ಅವನು ನುಂಗಿದ ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಕಾರಿಬಿಡುವನು; ಅವನ ಹೊಟ್ಟೆಯೊಳಗಿಂದ ದೇವರು ಅದನ್ನು ಹೊರಡ ಮಾಡುವನು.
He hath swallowed down riches, and he shall vomit them up again: God shall cast them out of his belly.
ಸರ್ಪಗಳ ವಿಷ ವನ್ನು ಹೀರುವನು; ಹಾವಿನ ನಾಲಿಗೆ ಅವನನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲು ವದು.
He shall suck the poison of asps: the viper’s tongue shall slay him.
ಅವನು ಜೇನೂ ಬೆಣ್ಣೆ ಹರಿಯುವ ಹಳ್ಳ ಗಳನ್ನೂ ನದಿಯನ್ನೂ ಕಾಲಿವೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ನೋಡನು.
He shall not see the rivers, the floods, the brooks of honey and butter.
ದುಡಿದದ್ದನ್ನ್ನು ನುಂಗದೆ ತಿರುಗಿ ಕೊಡುವನು; ಆಸ್ತಿಯ ಮೇರೆಗೆ ಬದಲು ಕೊಡುವನು; ಅವನು ಉಲ್ಲಾಸ ಹೊಂದುವದಿಲ್ಲ.
That which he laboured for shall he restore, and shall not swallow [it] down: according to [his] substance [shall] the restitution [be], and he shall not rejoice [therein].
ದೀನರನ್ನು ಜಜ್ಜಿ ತೊರೆ ದುಬಿಟ್ಟನು; ತಾನು ಕಟ್ಟದ ಮನೆಯನ್ನು ಕೆಡವಿ ಬಿಟ್ಟನು.
Because he hath oppressed [and] hath forsaken the poor; [because] he hath violently taken away an house which he builded not;
ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಹೊಟ್ಟೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸೌಖ್ಯ ತಿಳುಕೊಳ್ಳುವದಿಲ್ಲ; ತನಗೆ ಇಷ್ಟವಾದದರಲ್ಲಿ ಏನೂ ಉಳಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವದಿಲ್ಲ.
Surely he shall not feel quietness in his belly, he shall not save of that which he desired.
ಅವನ ಊಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಏನೂ ಉಳಿಯದು; ಆದದರಿಂದ ಅವನ ವಸ್ತುಗಳನ್ನು ಯಾರೂ ನೋಡುವದಿಲ್ಲ.
There shall none of his meat be left; therefore shall no man look for his goods.
ಅವನ ಪೂರ್ಣತೆಯ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಇಕ್ಕಟ್ಟಾಗಿದೆ; ದುಷ್ಟರ ಕೈಗಳೆಲ್ಲಾ ಅವನ ಮೇಲೆ ಬರುವವು.
In the fulness of his sufficiency he shall be in straits: every hand of the wicked shall come upon him.
ಏನಾಗುವದಂದರೆ ಅವನ ಹೊಟ್ಟೆಯನ್ನು ತುಂಬು ವದಕ್ಕಿರುವಾಗ ದೇವರು ತನ್ನ ಕೋಪದ ಉರಿಯನ್ನು ಅವನ ಮೇಲೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸುವನು; ಅವನ ಆಹಾರಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಅವನ ಮೇಲೆ ಸುರಿಸುವನು.
[When] he is about to fill his belly, [God] shall cast the fury of his wrath upon him, and shall rain [it] upon him while he is eating.
ಅವನು ಕಬ್ಬಿಣದ ಆಯುಧಕ್ಕೆ ಓಡಿಹೋದರೆ ಹಿತ್ತಾಳೆಯ ಬಿಲ್ಲು ಅವ ನನ್ನು ತಿವಿಯುವದು.
He shall flee from the iron weapon, [and] the bow of steel shall strike him through.
ಅವನು ಎಳೆದರೆ ಅದು ಬೆನ್ನಿನಿಂದ ಹೊರಡುವದು; ಅವನ ಪಿತ್ತದೊಳಗಿಂದ ಮಿಂಚುವ ಖಡ್ಗ ಬರುವದು; ಅವನ ಮೇಲೆ ಹೆದರಿಕೆ ಗಳು ಅವೆ.
It is drawn, and cometh out of the body; yea, the glittering sword cometh out of his gall: terrors [are] upon him.
ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಅಂಧಕಾರವು ಅವನ ಗುಪ್ತ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಇಡಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿದೆ; ಯಾರೂ ಹೊತ್ತಿಸದ ಬೆಂಕಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನುವದು; ಅವನ ಗುಡಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ಉಳಿ ದವನು ನಾಶವಾಗುವನು.
All darkness [shall be] hid in his secret places: a fire not blown shall consume him; it shall go ill with him that is left in his tabernacle.
ಆಕಾಶಗಳು ಅವನ ಅಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಪ್ರಕಟಮಾಡುವವು; ಭೂಮಿಯು ಅವನಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಏಳುವದು.
The heaven shall reveal his iniquity; and the earth shall rise up against him.
ಅವನ ಮನೆಯ ಆದಾಯವು ತೊಲಗಿ ಹೋಗುವದು; ಅವನ ಕೋಪದ ದಿವಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಅದು ಕರಗಿ ಹೋಗುವದು.ದುಷ್ಟಮನುಷ್ಯನಿಗೆ ದೇವರಿಂದ ಬರುವ ಪಾಲೂ ದೇವರಿಂದ ಅವನಿಗೆ ನೇಮಿಸಲ್ಪ ಟ್ಟಿರುವ ಬಾಧ್ಯತೆಯೂ ಇದೇ.
The increase of his house shall depart, [and his goods] shall flow away in the day of his wrath.
ದುಷ್ಟಮನುಷ್ಯನಿಗೆ ದೇವರಿಂದ ಬರುವ ಪಾಲೂ ದೇವರಿಂದ ಅವನಿಗೆ ನೇಮಿಸಲ್ಪ ಟ್ಟಿರುವ ಬಾಧ್ಯತೆಯೂ ಇದೇ.
This [is] the portion of a wicked man from God, and the heritage appointed unto him by God.
