ಅವರು ಪಟ್ಟಣ ದೊಳಗಿಂದ ಇವರಿಗೆ ಎದುರಾಗಿ ಬಂದ ಕಾರಣ ಅವರು ಈ ಕಡೆ ಆ ಕಡೆ ಇರುವ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದರು. ಆದದರಿಂದ ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬರೂ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗದ ಹಾಗೆಯೂ ಜೀವದಲ್ಲಿ ಉಳಿಯದ ಹಾಗೆಯೂ ಅವರನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆದರು.

- 20ಆಯಿಯ ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ಹಿಂದಕ್ಕೆ ತಿರಿಗಿ ನೋಡಿದಾಗ ಇಗೋ, ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಹೊಗೆ ಹೊತ್ತಿ ಆಕಾಶಕ್ಕೆ ಏಳು ವದನ್ನು ಕಂಡರು; ಆಗ ಈ ಮಾರ್ಗವಾದರೂ ಆ ಮಾರ್ಗವಾದರೂ ಓಡಿಹೋಗಲು ಅವರಿಗೆ ತ್ರಾಣ ವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಹೋಯಿತು. ಆಗ ಅರಣ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಓಡಿ ಹೋದ ಜನರು ಹಿಂದಟ್ಟಿದವರ ಕಡೆಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿದರು.
- 21ಹೊಂಚಿ ಕೊಂಡ ಜನರು ಪಟ್ಟಣವನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದದ್ದನ್ನೂ ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಹೊಗೆ ಏಳುವದನ್ನೂ ಯೆಹೋಶುವನೂ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇ ಲ್ಯರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ನೋಡುವಾಗ ತಿರುಗಿಕೊಂಡು ಆಯಿಯ ಮನುಷ್ಯರನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆದುಬಿಟ್ಟರು.
- 22ಅವರು ಪಟ್ಟಣ ದೊಳಗಿಂದ ಇವರಿಗೆ ಎದುರಾಗಿ ಬಂದ ಕಾರಣ ಅವರು ಈ ಕಡೆ ಆ ಕಡೆ ಇರುವ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದರು. ಆದದರಿಂದ ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬರೂ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗದ ಹಾಗೆಯೂ ಜೀವದಲ್ಲಿ ಉಳಿಯದ ಹಾಗೆಯೂ ಅವರನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆದರು.
- 23ಆಯಿಯ ಅರಸನನ್ನು ಜೀವಿತನಾಗಿ ಹಿಡಿದು ಯೆಹೋಶುವನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ತಂದರು.
- 24ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರು ಅರಣ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಓಡಿಸಿದ ಆಯಿಯ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳೆಲ್ಲರನ್ನು ಕತ್ತಿಯ ಬಾಯಿಂದ ಅವರೆಲ್ಲರು ಬಿದ್ದು ಮುಗಿಯುವ ವರೆಗೂ ಬೈಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಹರಿಸಿ ತೀರಿದ ತರುವಾಯ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಆಯಿಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿ ಅದನ್ನು ಕತ್ತಿಯ ಬಾಯಿಂದ ಹೊಡೆದರು.
