ಆಗ ಹೊಂಚುಹಾಕಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದವರು ತೀವ್ರವಾಗಿ ಗಿಬೆಯಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದರು. ಹೊಂಚುಹಾಕಿದ್ದವರು ಸಾಲಾಗಿ ಹೊರಟು ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿರುವವರೆಲ್ಲರನ್ನು ಕತ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಹೊಡೆದರು.

- 36ಹೀಗೆ ಬೆನ್ಯಾವಿಾನನ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ತಾವು ಹೊಡೆಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿದೇವೆಂದು ಕಂಡರು; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‌ ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ಗಿಬೆಯದ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊಂಚು ಹಾಕುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಇಟ್ಟವರನ್ನು ನಂಬಿದ್ದದರಿಂದ ಬೆನ್ಯಾವಿಾನ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಸ್ಥಳವನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟರು.

- 38ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‌ ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ಹೊಂಚು ಹಾಕಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದವರ ಸಂಗಡ ನೇಮಿಸಿಕೊಂಡ ಗುರುತೇ ನಂದರೆ, ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಮಹಾದೊಡ್ಡ ಹೊಗೆಯನ್ನು ಏಳಮಾಡುವದೇ.
- 39ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‌ ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ಯುದ್ಧದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಿಂದೆಗೆದಾಗ ಬೆನ್ಯಾವಿಾನ್ಯರು ಇಸ್ರಾ ಯೇಲ್ಯರನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆಯುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿ ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚುಕಡಿಮೆ ಮೂವತ್ತು ಜನರನ್ನು ಕೊಂದಾಗ ಮೊದಲು ಯುದ್ಧದಲ್ಲಿ ಆದ ಹಾಗೆ ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ಅವರು ನಮ್ಮ ಮುಂದೆ ಮುರಿಯಲ್ಪಡುತ್ತಾರೆ ಅಂದು ಕೊಂಡರು.
