1. 1ಯೆರುಬ್ಬಾಳನ ಮಗನಾದ ಅಬೀಮೆಲೆಕನು ಶೆಕೆಮಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ತನ್ನ ತಾಯಿಯ ಸಹೋದರರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅವರ ಸಂಗಡವೂ ತನ್ನ ತಾಯಿಯ ತಂದೆ ಮನೆಯ ಕುಟುಂಬದವರೆ ಲ್ಲರ ಸಂಗಡವೂ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ--
2. 2ನೀವು ದಯಮಾಡಿ ಶೆಕೆಮಿನ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರು ಕೇಳುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಮಾತನಾಡ ಬೇಕಾದದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ -- ಯೆರುಬ್ಬಾಳನ ಮಕ್ಕಳಾದ ಎಪ್ಪತ್ತು ಮಂದಿಯು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಆಳುವದು ಒಳ್ಳೇದೋ? ಒಬ್ಬನು ಆಳುವದು ಒಳ್ಳೇದೋ? ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಎಲುಬೂ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮಾಂಸವೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದೇನೆಂದು ಜ್ಞಾಪಕ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ ಅಂದನು.
3. 3ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಅವನ ತಾಯಿಯ ಸಹೋದರರು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು ಶೆಕೆಮಿನ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರ ಕಿವಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಆಡಿದರು. ಅವರು ಇವನನ್ನು ತಮ್ಮ ಸಹೋದರನೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ದ್ದರಿಂದ ಆ ಜನರ ಹೃದಯವು ಅಬೀಮೆಲೆಕನ ಕಡೆಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿತು.
