ಅಬೀಮೆಲೆಕನೂ ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದ ಜನರ ಗುಂಪೂ ಮುಂದಕ್ಕೆ ಓಡಿ ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಪ್ರವೇಶ ದ್ವಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತರು. ಮಿಕ್ಕಾದ ಎರಡು ಗುಂಪು ಜನರು ಹೊಲದಲ್ಲಿರುವವರೆ ಲ್ಲರ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಿದ್ದು ಅವರನ್ನು ಹತಮಾಡಿಬಿಟ್ಟರು.

- 45ಅಬೀಮೆಲೆಕನು ಆ ದಿನವೆಲ್ಲಾ ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಮೇಲೆ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡಿ ಪಟ್ಟಣವನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು ಅದರಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಜನ ವನ್ನು ಕೊಂದು ಪಟ್ಟಣವನ್ನು ಕೆಡವಿಬಿಟ್ಟು ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ಉಪ್ಪು ಎರಚಿಬಿಟ್ಟನು.
- 46ಅದನ್ನು ಶೆಕೆಮಿನ ಗೋಪುರ ದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ ಅವರು ಬೆರೀತೆಂಬ ದೇವರ ಮನೆಯ ಭದ್ರವಾದ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಿದರು.
