ಅಬೀಮೆಲೆಕನು ಆ ದಿನವೆಲ್ಲಾ ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಮೇಲೆ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡಿ ಪಟ್ಟಣವನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು ಅದರಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಜನ ವನ್ನು ಕೊಂದು ಪಟ್ಟಣವನ್ನು ಕೆಡವಿಬಿಟ್ಟು ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ಉಪ್ಪು ಎರಚಿಬಿಟ್ಟನು.

- 46ಅದನ್ನು ಶೆಕೆಮಿನ ಗೋಪುರ ದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ ಅವರು ಬೆರೀತೆಂಬ ದೇವರ ಮನೆಯ ಭದ್ರವಾದ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಿದರು.
- 47ಆದರೆ ಶೆಕೆಮಿನ ಗೋಪುರದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಕೂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆಂದು ಅಬೀಮೆಲೆಕನಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಾಗ
