1. 40ಆದರೆ ಅಬೀಮೆಲೆಕನು ಅವ ನನ್ನು ಹಿಂದಟ್ಟಿದಾಗ ಅವನು ಅವನ ಮುಂದೆ ಓಡಿ ಹೋದನು. ಪ್ರವೇಶ ದ್ವಾರದ ವರೆಗೆ ಅನೇಕರು ಸಂಹಾರವಾಗಿ ಅನೇಕರು ಗಾಯಗೊಂಡರು.
2. 41ಆಗ ಅಬೀಮೆಲೆಕನು ಅರೂಮದಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಮಾಡಿದನು; ಆದರೆ ಜೆಬುಲನು ಗಾಳನನ್ನೂ ಅವನ ಸಹೋದರ ರನ್ನೂ ಶೆಕೆಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಇರದ ಹಾಗೆ ಹೊರಡಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟನು.
3. 42ಮರು ದಿವಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಆದದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ, ಜನರು ಹೊಲಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊರಟರು: ಅವರು ಅಬೀಮೆಲೆಕನಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.
4. 43ಅವನು ಜನರನ್ನು ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಅವರನ್ನು ಮೂರು ಗುಂಪುಗಳಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿ ಹೊಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊಂಚಿ ಕೊಂಡನು. ಇಗೋ, ಜನರು ಪಟ್ಟಣದಿಂದ ಹೊರಗೆ ಬಂದರು. ಅವನು ಅವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಎದ್ದು ಬಂದು ಅವರನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆದನು.
