1. 28ಬೋಧಕನೇ, ಹೆಂಡತಿ ಇದ್ದ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಸತ್ತರೆ ಅವನ ಸಹೋದರನು ಅವನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯನ್ನು ಮದುವೆಯಾಗಿ ತನ್ನ ಸಹೋ ದರನಿಗಾಗಿ ಸಂತಾನವನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯಬೇಕೆಂದು ಮೋಶೆಯು ನಮಗೆ ಬರೆದುಕೊಟ್ಟನು.
2. 29ಹೀಗೆ ಏಳು ಮಂದಿ ಸಹೋದರರು ಇರಲಾಗಿ ಮೊದಲನೆಯವನು ಮದುವೆಯಾಗಿ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಸತ್ತನು.
3. 30ಎರಡನೆಯ ವನು ಆಕೆಯನ್ನು ಮದುವೆಯಾಗಿ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಸತ್ತನು.
4. 31ಮೂರನೆಯವನು ಆಕೆಯನ್ನು ಮದುವೆಯಾದನು; ಅದೇ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಏಳು ಜನರು ಸಹ ಮದುವೆಯಾಗಿ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಸತ್ತರು.
