ಅವರು ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರವಾಗಿ--ಬಾಪ್ತಿಸ್ಮ ಮಾಡಿಸುವ ಯೋಹಾನನು ಅನ್ನುತ್ತಾರೆ; ಆದರೆ ಕೆಲವರು--ಎಲೀಯನು; ಬೇರೆ ಕೆಲವರು--ಪೂರ್ವಕಾಲದ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನು ತಿರಿಗಿ ಎದ್ದಿದ್ದಾನೆ ಅನ್ನುತ್ತಾರೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
