ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಕಟ್ಟಿರುವ ಈ ದೇವಾಲಯವನ್ನು ನಾನು ಕೆಡವಿಬಿಟ್ಟು ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಕಟ್ಟದಿರುವ ಮತ್ತೊಂದನ್ನು ಮೂರು ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕಟ್ಟುವೆನು ಎಂದು ಈತನು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದನ್ನು ನಾವು ಕೇಳಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೇವೆ ಅಂದರು.

- 59ಹೀಗಿದ್ದರೂ ಅವರ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ ಒಂದಕ್ಕೊಂದು ಒಪ್ಪಿಗೆಯಾಗಲಿಲ್ಲ.
- 60ಆಗ ಮಹಾಯಾಜಕನು ಎದ್ದು ನಡುವೆ ನಿಂತು ಯೇಸುವಿಗೆ--ನೀನು ಏನೂ ಉತ್ತರಕೊಡುವದಿ ಲ್ಲವೋ? ಇವರು ನಿನಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುವ ಈ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ ಏನು ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದನು.
