ಆಗ ಜನಸಮೂಹವು ಗಟ್ಟಿಯಾಗಿ ಕೂಗುತ್ತಾ ಅವನು ತಮಗೆ ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ಮಾಡಿದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಮಾಡ ಬೇಕೆಂದು ಬೇಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾರಂಭಿ ಸಿದರು.

Aaga janasamoohavu gattiyaagi kooguttaa avanu tamage yaavaagaloo maadida prakaara maada bekendu bedikollalaarambhi sidaru.

6ಆ ಹಬ್ಬದಲ್ಲಿ ಜನರು ಬೇಡಿ ಕೊಂಡ ಒಬ್ಬ ಸೆರೆಯವನನ್ನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಬಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಡುವ ಪದ್ಧತಿಯಿತ್ತು.
7ಆಗ ದಂಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಬಂಧಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟು ಆ ದಂಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊಲೆ ಮಾಡಿದ ಬರಬ್ಬ ನೆಂಬ ಹೆಸರುಳ್ಳವನೊಬ್ಬನು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದನು.
8ಆಗ ಜನಸಮೂಹವು ಗಟ್ಟಿಯಾಗಿ ಕೂಗುತ್ತಾ ಅವನು ತಮಗೆ ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ಮಾಡಿದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಮಾಡ ಬೇಕೆಂದು ಬೇಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾರಂಭಿ ಸಿದರು.
9ಆದರೆ ಪಿಲಾತನು ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರವಾಗಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ--ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರ ಅರಸನನ್ನು ನಿಮಗಾಗಿ ನಾನು ಬಿಡಿಸಬೇಕೋ ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದನು.
10ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಪ್ರಧಾನಯಾಜಕರು ಹೊಟ್ಟೇಕಿಚ್ಚಿನಿಂದ ಆತನನ್ನು ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದರೆಂದು ಅವನಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿದಿತ್ತು.
