ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ ಆಕಾಶವು ಮೋಡಕವಿದು ಕೆಂಪಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ--ಈ ಹೊತ್ತು ಕೆಟ್ಟ ಹವಾಮಾನ ಇದೆಯೆಂದೂ ನೀವು ಅನ್ನುತ್ತೀರಿ. ಓ ಕಪಟಿಗಳೇ, ಆಕಾಶದಲ್ಲಾಗುವ ಸೂಚನೆ ಗಳನ್ನು ನೀವು ಗ್ರಹಿಸಬಲ್ಲಿರಿ; ಆದರೆ ಸಮಯಗಳ ಸೂಚನೆಗಳನ್ನು ನೀವು ಗ್ರಹಿಸಲಾರಿರಾ?
Beligge aakaashavu modakavidu kempaagiddare--ee hottu ketta havaamaana ideyendoo neevu annutteeri. O kapatigale, aakaashadallaaguva soochane galannu neevu grahisaballiri; aadare samayagala soochanegalannu neevu grahisalaariraa?

- 4ವ್ಯಭಿಚಾರಿ ಯಾದ ಈ ಕೆಟ್ಟ ಸಂತತಿಯು ಸೂಚಕಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕುತ್ತದೆ; ಆದರೆ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯಾದ ಯೋನನಲ್ಲಿ ಆದ ಸೂಚಕಕಾರ್ಯವೇ ಹೊರತು ಬೇರೆ ಯಾವ ಸೂಚಕಕಾರ್ಯವೂ ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಕೊಡಲ್ಪಡುವದಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು. ತರುವಾಯ ಆತನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೊರಟುಹೋದನು.
- 5ಆತನ ಶಿಷ್ಯರು ರೊಟ್ಟಿ ತಕ್ಕೊಳ್ಳುವದನ್ನು ಮರೆತು ಆಚೇದಡಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಿದ್ದರು.
