4ವ್ಯಭಿಚಾರಿ ಯಾದ ಈ ಕೆಟ್ಟ ಸಂತತಿಯು ಸೂಚಕಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕುತ್ತದೆ; ಆದರೆ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯಾದ ಯೋನನಲ್ಲಿ ಆದ ಸೂಚಕಕಾರ್ಯವೇ ಹೊರತು ಬೇರೆ ಯಾವ ಸೂಚಕಕಾರ್ಯವೂ ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಕೊಡಲ್ಪಡುವದಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು. ತರುವಾಯ ಆತನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೊರಟುಹೋದನು.
5ಆತನ ಶಿಷ್ಯರು ರೊಟ್ಟಿ ತಕ್ಕೊಳ್ಳುವದನ್ನು ಮರೆತು ಆಚೇದಡಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಿದ್ದರು.
6ಆಗ ಯೇಸು ಅವರಿಗೆ--ಫರಿಸಾಯರ ಮತ್ತು ಸದ್ದುಕಾಯರ ಹುಳಿಯ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆಯಿಂದ ಜಾಗರೂಕ ರಾಗಿರ್ರಿ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
7ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ತಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿಯೇ--ನಾವು ರೊಟ್ಟಿಯನ್ನು ತಕ್ಕೊಳ್ಳದೆ ಇರುವ ದರಿಂದ (ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ) ಎಂದು ಅಂದು ಕೊಂಡರು.
