ರೊಟ್ಟಿಯ ಕೊರತೆ ಇದ್ದು ತನ್ನನ್ನು ತಾನೇ ಘನಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವವನಿಗಿಂತಲೂ ಸೇವಕನುಳ್ಳವನಾಗಿ ತಿರಸ್ಕರಿಸಲ್ಪಡುವವನೇ ಲೇಸು.

King James Version (KJV): [He that is] despised, and hath a servant, [is] better than he that honoureth himself, and lacketh bread.

7ದುಷ್ಟರು ಕೆಡವಲ್ಪಟ್ಟು ಇಲ್ಲದೇ ಹೋಗುವರು; ನೀತಿವಂತರ ಮನೆಯು ನಿಲ್ಲುವದು.
8ತನ್ನ ಜ್ಞಾನಕ್ಕನುಸಾರವಾಗಿ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಹೊಗ ಳಲ್ಪಡುವನು; ವಕ್ರಹೃದಯವುಳ್ಳವನು ತಿರಸ್ಕರಿಸಲ್ಪಡು ವನು.
9ರೊಟ್ಟಿಯ ಕೊರತೆ ಇದ್ದು ತನ್ನನ್ನು ತಾನೇ ಘನಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವವನಿಗಿಂತಲೂ ಸೇವಕನುಳ್ಳವನಾಗಿ ತಿರಸ್ಕರಿಸಲ್ಪಡುವವನೇ ಲೇಸು.
10ನೀತಿವಂತನು ತನ್ನ ಪಶುವಿನ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಆದರೆ ದುಷ್ಟರ ಅಂತಃಕರುಣೆಯು ಕ್ರೂರತನವೇ.
11ತನ್ನ ಹೊಲವನ್ನು ವ್ಯವಸಾಯ ಮಾಡುವವನು ರೊಟ್ಟಿಯಿಂದ ತೃಪ್ತಿ ಹೊಂದುವನು; ನಿಷ್ಪ್ರಯೋಜಕರನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸುವ ವನು ವಿವೇಕ ಶೂನ್ಯನು.
