ಓ ದೇವರೇ, ನೀನು ಹಿಂದಿನ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ, ಅಂದರೆ ನಮ್ಮ ತಂದೆಗಳ ದಿವಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾಡಿದ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಅವರು ನಮಗೆ ವಿವರಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ; ಅದನ್ನು ನಾವು ನಮ್ಮ ಕಿವಿಗಳಿಂದ ಕೇಳಿದ್ದೇವೆ.
To the chief Musician for the sons of Korah, Maschil. We have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us, [what] work thou didst in their days, in the times of old.
ನೀನು ನಿನ್ನ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊರಡಿಸಿ (ನಮ್ಮ ತಂದೆಗಳನ್ನು) ನೆಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೀ; ಜನರನ್ನು ಬಾಧೆಪಡಿಸಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಹೊರಗೆ ಹಾಕಿದಿ.
[How] thou didst drive out the heathen with thy hand, and plantedst them; [how] thou didst afflict the people, and cast them out.
ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಕತ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಸ್ವಾಧೀನಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿಲ್ಲ; ಅವರ ತೋಳು ಅವರನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ; ಆದರೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಬಲಗೈಯೂ ತೋಳೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಮುಖದ ಪ್ರಕಾಶವೂ ಇವುಗಳೇ ಅವರನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿದವು; ನಿನ್ನ ಒಲುಮೆ ಅವರಿಗಿತ್ತಲ್ಲಾ.
For they got not the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them: but thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, because thou hadst a favour unto them.
ಓ ದೇವರೇ, ನೀನೇ ನನ್ನ ಅರಸನು; ಯಾಕೋಬ ನಿಗೆ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಗಳನ್ನು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸು.
Thou art my King, O God: command deliverances for Jacob.
ನಿನ್ನಿಂದ ನಮ್ಮ ವೈರಿಗಳನ್ನು ದೊಬ್ಬುವೆವು; ನಿನ್ನ ಹೆಸರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಎದುರಾಳಿಗಳನ್ನು ತುಳಿಯುವೆವು.
Through thee will we push down our enemies: through thy name will we tread them under that rise up against us.
ನಾನು ನನ್ನ ಬಿಲ್ಲಿ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಭರವಸವಿಡುವದಿಲ್ಲ. ನನ್ನ ಕತ್ತಿಯು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸುವದಿಲ್ಲ.
For I will not trust in my bow, neither shall my sword save me.
ನೀನು ನಮ್ಮ ವೈರಿಗಳಿಂದ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿದಿ; ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಹಗೆಮಾಡಿದವರನ್ನು ನಾಚಿಕೆ ಪಡಿಸಿದಿ.
But thou hast saved us from our enemies, and hast put them to shame that hated us.
ನಾವು ದಿನವೆಲ್ಲಾ ದೇವರಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚಳ ಪಡುವೆವು; ನಿನ್ನ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ಯುಗಯುಗಕ್ಕೂ ಕೊಂಡಾ ಡುವೆವು. ಸೆಲಾ.
In God we boast all the day long, and praise thy name for ever. Selah.
ಆದರೆ ನೀನು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ತಳ್ಳಿಬಿಟ್ಟು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಅವಮಾನಪಡಿಸುತ್ತೀ; ನಮ್ಮ ಸೈನ್ಯಗಳ ಸಂಗಡ ನೀನು ಹೊರಟುಹೋಗುವದಿಲ್ಲ.
But thou hast cast off, and put us to shame; and goest not forth with our armies.
ವೈರಿಯ ಮುಂದೆ ನಾವು ಹಿಂದಿರುಗ ಮಾಡುತ್ತೀ; ನಮ್ಮ ಹಗೆಯವರು ತಮಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಕೊಳ್ಳೆ ಇಡುತ್ತಾರೆ.
Thou makest us to turn back from the enemy: and they which hate us spoil for themselves.
ತಿನ್ನತಕ್ಕ ಕುರಿಗಳ ಹಾಗೆ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿದ್ದೀ; ಅನ್ಯಜನಾಂಗ ಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಚದರಿಸಿದ್ದೀ.
Thou hast given us like sheep [appointed] for meat; and hast scattered us among the heathen.
ನಿನ್ನ ಜನರನ್ನು ಕ್ರಯವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಮಾರಿಬಿಡುತ್ತೀ. ಅವರ ಬೆಲೆಯಿಂದ ನೀನು ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂಪತ್ತನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಮಾಡಲಿಲ್ಲ.
Thou sellest thy people for nought, and dost not increase [thy wealth] by their price.
ನಮ್ಮ ನೆರೆಯವರಿಗೆ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ನಿಂದೆಗೂ ಸುತ್ತಲಿರುವವರಿಗೆ ಗೇಲಿಯಾಗಿಯೂ ಹಾಸ್ಯವಾಗಿಯೂ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಇಡುತ್ತೀ.
Thou makest us a reproach to our neighbours, a scorn and a derision to them that are round about us.
ಅನ್ಯಜನಾಂಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಗಾದೆಯಾಗಿಯೂ ಪ್ರಜೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ತಲೆಯಾಡಿಸುವಂತೆ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಇಡುತ್ತೀ.
Thou makest us a byword among the heathen, a shaking of the head among the people.
ನಿಂದಕನ ಮತ್ತು ದೂಷಕನ ಸ್ವರಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರವೂ ಶತ್ರುವಿನ ಮುಯ್ಯಿಗೆಮುಯ್ಯಿ ಕೊಡುವವನ ನಿಮಿ ತ್ತವೂ
My confusion [is] continually before me, and the shame of my face hath covered me,
ದಿನವೆಲ್ಲಾ ನನ್ನ ಗಲಿಬಿಲಿಯು ನನ್ನ ಮುಂದೆ ಇದೆ; ನನ್ನ ಮುಖದ ನಾಚಿಕೆಯು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಮುಚ್ಚಿಯದೆ.
For the voice of him that reproacheth and blasphemeth; by reason of the enemy and avenger.
ಇದೆಲ್ಲಾ ನಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಂತು; ಆದರೆ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಮರೆತುಬಿಡಲಿಲ್ಲ; ನಿನ್ನ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಳ್ಳಾ ಡಲಿಲ್ಲ.
All this is come upon us; yet have we not forgotten thee, neither have we dealt falsely in thy covenant.
ನಮ್ಮ ಹೃದಯವು ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಲಿಲ್ಲ; ನಮ್ಮ ಹೆಜ್ಜೆಗಳು ನಿನ್ನ ಹಾದಿಯಿಂದ ತೊಲಗಲಿಲ್ಲ.
Our heart is not turned back, neither have our steps declined from thy way;
ಆದಾ ಗ್ಯೂ ಮಹಾಘಟಸರ್ಪಗಳ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಜಜ್ಜಿ ಮರಣದ ನೆರಳಿನಿಂದ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಮುಚ್ಚಿಬಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೀ.
Though thou hast sore broken us in the place of dragons, and covered us with the shadow of death.
ನಾವು ನಮ್ಮ ದೇವರ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ಮರೆತು ಅನ್ಯ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಕೈಗಳನ್ನು ಚಾಚಿದರೆ
If we have forgotten the name of our God, or stretched out our hands to a strange god;
ದೇವರು ಅದನ್ನು ವಿಚಾರಿಸನೋ? ಆತನು ಹೃದಯದ ಮರ್ಮ ಗಳನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
Shall not God search this out? for he knoweth the secrets of the heart.
ಹೌದು, ನಿನ್ನ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ದಿನ ವೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕೊಲ್ಲಲ್ಪಡುತ್ತೇವೆ; ಕೊಯ್ಗುರಿಗಳ ಹಾಗೆ ಎಣಿಸಲ್ಪಡುತ್ತೇವೆ.
Yea, for thy sake are we killed all the day long; we are counted as sheep for the slaughter.
ಓ ಕರ್ತನೇ, ಎಚ್ಚರವಾಗು, ಯಾಕೆ ನಿದ್ರೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತೀ? ಎದ್ದೇಳು; ಸದಾಕಾಲಕ್ಕೂ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ತಳ್ಳಿಬಿಡಬೇಡ.
Awake, why sleepest thou, O Lord? arise, cast [us] not off for ever.
ಯಾಕೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಮುಖವನ್ನು ಮರೆ ಮಾಡಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಸಂಕಟವನ್ನೂ ಬಾಧೆಯನ್ನೂ ಮರೆತು ಬಿಡುತ್ತೀ.
Wherefore hidest thou thy face, [and] forgettest our affliction and our oppression?
ನಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರಾಣವು ಧೂಳಿನ ವರೆಗೂ ಬೊಗ್ಗಿಯದೆ; ನಮ್ಮ ಹೊಟ್ಟೆಯು ಭೂಮಿಗೆ ಅಂಟಿ ಕೊಂಡಿದೆ.ನಮಗೆ ಸಹಾಯವಾಗಿ ಏಳು; ನಿನ್ನ ಕೃಪೆಯ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ವಿಮೋಚಿಸು.
For our soul is bowed down to the dust: our belly cleaveth unto the earth.
ನಮಗೆ ಸಹಾಯವಾಗಿ ಏಳು; ನಿನ್ನ ಕೃಪೆಯ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ವಿಮೋಚಿಸು.
Arise for our help, and redeem us for thy mercies’ sake.
