1. 17അവരിൽ ഒരുത്തി പറഞ്ഞതു: തമ്പുരാനെ, അടിയനും, ഇവളും ഒരു വീട്ടിൽ പാർക്കുന്നു; ഞങ്ങൾ പാർക്കുന്ന വീട്ടിൽവെച്ചു ഞാൻ ഒരു കുഞ്ഞിനെ പ്രസവിച്ചു.
2. 18ഞാൻ പ്രസവിച്ചതിന്റെ മൂന്നാം ദിവസം ഇവളും പ്രസവിച്ചു; ഞങ്ങൾ ഒന്നിച്ചായിരുന്നു; ഞങ്ങൾ രണ്ടുപേരും ഒഴികെ ആ വീട്ടിൽ മറ്റാരും ഞങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല.
3. 19എന്നാൽ രാത്രി ഇവൾ തന്റെ മകന്റെ മേൽ കിടന്നുപോയതുകൊണ്ടു അവൻ മരിച്ചു പോയി.
4. 20അവൾ അർദ്ധരാത്രി എഴുന്നേറ്റു, അടിയൻ ഉറങ്ങുന്ന സമയം, അടിയന്റെ അരികെനിന്നു അടിയന്റെ മകനെ എടുത്തു അവളുടെ പള്ളെക്കലും അവളുടെ മരിച്ച മകനെ അടിയന്റെ പള്ളെക്കലും കിടത്തി.
5. 21രാവിലെ കുഞ്ഞിന്നു മുലകൊടുപ്പാൻ അടിയൻ എഴുന്നേറ്റപ്പോൾ അതു മരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു; വെളിച്ചമായശേഷം അടിയൻ സൂക്ഷിച്ചുനോക്കിയാറെ അതു അടിയൻ പ്രസവിച്ച കുഞ്ഞല്ല.
