ഊരീയാവു തന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നപ്പോൾ ദാവീദ് അവനോടു യോവാബിന്റെയും പടജ്ജനത്തിന്റെയും സുഖവർത്തമാനവും യുദ്ധത്തിന്റെ വസ്തുതയും ചോദിച്ചു.

- 9ഊരീയാവോ തന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ പോകാതെ യജമാനന്റെ സകലഭൃത്യന്മാരോടുംകൂടെ രാജധാനിയുടെ വാതില്ക്കൽ കിടന്നുറങ്ങി.
