4. 22അബ്നേർ അസാഹേലിനോടു: എന്നെ വിട്ടുപോക; ഞാൻ നിന്നെ വെട്ടിവീഴിക്കുന്നതു എന്തിന്നു? പിന്നെ ഞാൻ നിന്റെ സഹോദരനായ യോവാബിന്റെ മുഖത്തു എങ്ങനെ നോക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
5. 23എന്നാറെയും വിട്ടുമാറുവാൻ അവന്നു മനസ്സായില്ല; അബ്നേർ അവനെ കുന്തംകൊണ്ടു പിറകോട്ടു വയറ്റത്തു കുത്തി; കുന്തം മറുവശത്തു പുറപ്പെട്ടു; അവൻ അവിടെ തന്നെ വീണു മരിച്ചു. അസാഹേൽ മരിച്ചുകിടന്നേടത്തു വന്നവർ ഒക്കെയും നിന്നുപോയി.
