Howbeit he refused to turn aside: wherefore Abner with the hinder end of the spear smote him under the fifth [rib], that the spear came out behind him; and he fell down there, and died in the same place: and it came to pass, [that] as many as came to the place where Asahel fell down and died stood still.

3. 23എന്നാറെയും വിട്ടുമാറുവാൻ അവന്നു മനസ്സായില്ല; അബ്നേർ അവനെ കുന്തംകൊണ്ടു പിറകോട്ടു വയറ്റത്തു കുത്തി; കുന്തം മറുവശത്തു പുറപ്പെട്ടു; അവൻ അവിടെ തന്നെ വീണു മരിച്ചു. അസാഹേൽ മരിച്ചുകിടന്നേടത്തു വന്നവർ ഒക്കെയും നിന്നുപോയി.
4. 24യോവാബും അബീശായിയും അബ്നോരിനെ പിന്തുടർന്നു; അവർ ഗിബെയോൻമരുഭൂമിയിലെ വഴിയരികെ ഗീഹിന്റെ മുമ്പിലുള്ള അമ്മാക്കുന്നിൽ എത്തിയപ്പോൾ സൂര്യൻ അസ്തമിച്ചു.
