1. 13അതിന്നു അവൻ: നല്ലതു; ഉടമ്പടി ചെയ്യാം; എന്നാൽ ഞാൻ ഒരു കാര്യം നിന്നോടു ആവശ്യപ്പെടുന്നു: നീ എന്നെ കാണ്മാൻ വരുമ്പോൾ ആദ്യം തന്നേ ശൗലിന്റെ മകളായ മീഖളിനെ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു വരാതിരുന്നാൽ നീ എന്റെ മുഖം കാൺകയില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
2. 14ദാവീദ് ശൗലിന്റെ മകനായ ഈശ്-ബോശെത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ദൂതന്മാരെ അയച്ചു: ഞാൻ വിവാഹനിശ്ചയത്തിന്നു ഫെലിസ്ത്യരുടെ നൂറു അഗ്രചർമ്മം കൊടുത്തു വാങ്ങിയ എന്റെ ഭാര്യയായ മീഖളിനെ ഏല്പിച്ചുതരിക എന്നു പറയിച്ചു.
3. 15ഈശ്-ബോശെത്ത് അവളെ ലയീശിന്റെ മകനായി അവളുടെ ഭർത്താവായ ഫല്തിയേലിന്റെ അടുക്കൽനിന്നു വരുത്തി.
4. 16അവളുടെ ഭർത്താവു കരഞ്ഞുംകൊണ്ടു ബഹൂരീംവരെ അവളുടെ പിന്നാലെ വന്നു. അബ്നേർ അവനോടു: നീ മടങ്ങിപ്പോക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
5. 17അവൻ മടങ്ങിപ്പോയി. എന്നാൽ അബ്നേർ യിസ്രായേൽമൂപ്പന്മാരോടു സംസാരിച്ചു: ദാവീദിനെ രാജാവായി കിട്ടുവാൻ കുറെ കാലമായല്ലോ നിങ്ങൾ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നതു.
