2. 25തന്നെ വാറു കൊണ്ടു കെട്ടുമ്പോൾ പൗലൊസ് അരികെ നില്ക്കുന്ന ശതാധിപനോടു: റോമപൗരനും വിസ്താരം കഴിയാത്തവനുമായ മനുഷ്യനെ ചമ്മട്ടികൊണ്ടു അടിക്കുന്നതു വിഹിതമോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
3. 26ഇതു കേട്ടിട്ടു ശതാധിപൻ ചെന്നു സഹസ്രാധിപനോടു: നീ എന്തു ചെയ്‌വാൻ പോകുന്നു? ഈ മനുഷ്യൻ റോമപൗരൻ ആകുന്നു എന്നു ബോധിപ്പിച്ചു.
4. 27സഹസ്രാധിപൻ വന്നു: നീ റോമപൗരൻ തന്നേയോ? എന്നോടു പറക എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു:
5. 28അതെ എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു. ഞാൻ ഏറിയ മുതൽ കൊടുത്തു ഈ പൗരത്വം സമ്പാദിച്ചു എന്നു സഹസ്രാധിപൻ പറഞ്ഞതിന്നു: ഞാനോ അങ്ങനെ ജനിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പൗലൊസ് പറഞ്ഞു.
